Dazzling Diva Challenge #21

As it's Wednesday there is a new challenge starting over at Add A Little Dazzle. This weeks theme is Mother's Day?Anything Goes and here is the gorgeous image.....

I took the gorgeous colours and flowers for my inspiration.

Firstly I cut a panel of Baby Blue AALD craft metal sheet (link the Add A Little Dazzle Boutique is in my side bar) to cover the front of my card. I then used a stencil from Simon Says Stamp, Falling Hearts, and clear embossing paste (embossing paste can also be fount in the Add A Little Dazzle Boutique) to create the hearts on the metal. Before the paste dried I added teal glitter to it for added sparkle.

To create the flower panel I took a strip of water colourcard and using Wplus9 More Fresh Cuts I second generation stamped DI 'Picked Raspberry', 'Festive Berries' and ' Evergreen Bough'. The second geration stamping softens these colours greatly I then added a spritz of water to add to the faux watercolour effect.

I stamped a sentiment from Paper Smooches 'Pretty Phrases' onto vellum and then attached this and the floral panel using staples.

So for you chance to win a $15 AALD Store Voucher please link up your projects over on the Add A Little Dazzle Dazzling Diva Challenge. Remember you can use the gorgeous inspiration or just go Anything Goes. Also don't forget to check out my fellow teamies and take a peek at the gorgeous projects they came up with. Also also don't forget to stock up on the Add A Little Dazzle metal sheets from the store so you too can join me on the journey of metal crafting perfection.

Anything Goes At Make The Day Special

Today starts the third and final week of the Anything Goes challenge over at Make The Day Special. There is a £15 gift voucher up for grabs, so why not enter your card to be in with a chance of winning it.

The inspiration for my card comes from the new challenge over at Mama Elephant ... here' the pic...

I thought it looked very beachy so I went for a beach scene. Firstly I stamped the bunnies from 'Honey Bunny' using Archival ink so I could watercolour my scene without the ink running.

I then used my watercolour pencils and a waterbrush to create a sunset over the horizon for the two rabbits to stare out over.

After the watercolours were dry (with a little help from my heat tool) I then stamped the sentiment from Up And Away which I really felt fit with the picture I had created.

Thank you so much for popping by!

Celebrate- A MTDS Post

If you follow the Make The Day Special blog you will now know that we are saying farewell to Unity and that Tara now has them on sale for 25% off so there has never been a better time to stock up on Unity if you live in the UK.

I have used the Unity Itty-Bitty 'Celebrate' on my card today. This is such a great masculine image to use on those (in my opinion) harder to make male cards.

I simply stamped to boat image in black Memento ink and coloured with Copics. For the sentiment I stamped it in FitterGlu and cover in scrummy gold guilding flakes.

There is also a challenge going on at the Make The Day Special Blog! This month it is Anything Goes, all you need to do is make sure you use one product we have in the MTDS store and you could be in with a chance of winning a gift voucher to spend instore on some awesome stampy goodness.

So glad you sailed over... hehe.

Not Distressed Distress Inks

I have to admit that my favourite of the Distress Inks are the ones that aren't really distressed... the gorgeous bright and happy ones are the ones that I have become addicted to at the moment...... surely a sign that summer is gonna come, please pretty please.

To make this background I cut a piece of watercolour card that would completely cover the front of my card. Then I added 3 Distress Inks (Peacock Feathers, Picked Raspberry and Spiced Marmalade) to my craft mat in stripes and spritzed water onto the ink.

I then layed the watercolour card into the ink pressed it down a little then lifted straight up ( after this there was still lots of ink left on my mat so I created other bckgrounds from it... don't waste it :)  ). I waited for it to nearly dry and then helped it along with my heat tool.

I then stamped the sentiment from Wplus9 'Whole Lotta' Happy' and added paisleys from Wplus9 'Paisley Patterns' in my darkest black ink.

I added a Wink of Stella to the 'happy' and covered with glossy accents to create a bit of texture. A few drops of black enamel accents finished the look.

Thank you for calling round!

Dazzling Diva Challenge #20

This is my second post of the day so if you are looking for my PND post it's below this one :)

As it's the middle of the week there is a new Dazzling Diva challenge over at Add A Little Dazzle. Remember that we now have an option to use the fabulous image as inspiration or just do anything you what and go for the Anything Goes option. Here is this weeks theme....

I took inspiration from the soft colours, the wreath like nest, the eggs and also the rustic feel.

For the wreath I used the Spring Wreath die from Wplus9 and cut it out three times- the bottom layer from the silver side of a AALD sheet, the second from Brushed Bronze AALD metal (link to the AALD Boutique is in my sidebar) and the top layer is vellum to add softness.

The cute sentiment is from Mama Elephants 'Honey Bunny' stamp set, I just love the mixed fonts in this sentiment and the play on words is just so cute.

Ok.. now a little confession... I don't actully have any easter egg stamps in my stash ..eeek, I know it's something I will have to retify but I really wanted some eggs to put at the bottom of my wreath. So as I was unhappily putting all my stamps away as my Easter egg hunt went unrewarded my eyes fell on the little dinosaur egg on the Lawn Fawn set 'Critters From The Past'! Now that I could use :) I was one very happy bunny ... hehe. So I just stamped a few of the eggs and coloured with Copics before fussy cutting them out and placing in my layered wreath.

I then added a bow to the wreath using a little rustic button twine and a few sequins using the Mama Elephant 'Confetti Cuts' die with Brushed Bronze AALD craft Sheet (link to the AALD Boutique is in my sidebar) for a video on how to use the Confetti Cuts die with your AALD sheets please click here.

The image is from Kenny K. I have printed her out onto Neenah Solar White Card and coloured with Copic Markers before cutting to the size I wanted then adding a curve.

On my base card I used Distress Ink- Picked Raspberry to ink up the bottom part. To add the water marks I dropped water onto the colour then lifted the water off with some kitchen roll.

When the base card was dry I then stamped a sentiment from MFT- You Make My Day with Archival Black Ink
