Yay! I now have a craftroom - whoo-hoo!!!! For a year now my craft space had bee in the dinning room but this weekend we have moved all my crafty things upstairs into the spare room :) There are still some things I need to get rid of out of there (lots of clutters and boxes) but I'm one happy lady having my own little space where I can escape for a bit.
My first little project in my new room was inspired by the gorgeous mood board over at Stamp Away With Me....
I love this soft and warming palette - it's also a welcome change to the Christmassy colour combos around at the moment.
For my inspiration I took the colours and the used of the watercolour wash effect.
I do adore the font on the 'Fanciful Feathers' set and the two different fonts together look fab!
firstly I used water colour pencils to create the colour wash effect - I took the colour from the pencils nib with my brush so I didn't get any harsh pencil lines on my card.
After it had dried I then added three of the sentiments - they work so so well together.
I looked a bit blank to me then but I didn't want to add much more so I added the smallest feathers in the set, in a really light grey. I wanted to make them look like they were slowly drifting down, so I staggered them and changed their direction every time I stamped. To add to the cascading effect I added some liquid pearls in the direction I wanted the feathers to look like they were falling.
So happy you stopped by!
