Dazzling Diva Challenge #11

Hello there, I'm so excited to share with you that the lovely Monica from Add A Little Dazzle has asked me to be on her design team! Although I'm a complete beginner at using her lovely metal sheets I am sooooo excited to be working with them and playing  ermmm, I mean, learning how to use them. I do hope you will join me on my journey and have a go yourselves.

So a the new challenge has started today, Dazzling Diva Challenge #11, and this weeks challenge is watercolouring. For you lovely people out there who follow me you will know that I'm kinda obbessed with creating watercolour backgrounds so this is a great theme for me ;)

Firstly I created by watercolour background ( I am hoping to do a step by step on this technique as so many of you have asked me how to do it so keep an eye out for that), but as I thought it was too bright for the look I was going for I added a piece of vellum over the top for a softer muted look and stitched around the edges to attach it.

I then die cut a metal sheet using the back of the coloured sheet to get the silver effect using the Fanciful Feathers die from Wplus9 and also die-cut the feathers again using watercolour card. Then layered these up.

I added a sentiment from 'Oh Happy Day' from Avery Elle, a couple of dots of enamel accents and some Lawn Fawn twine.

Please go over to the Add A Little Dazzle blog and take part, there is fab package up for grabs. Also don't forget to check out my fellow teamies and take a peek at the gorgeous projects they came up with. Also also don't forget to stock up on the Add A Little Dazzle metal sheets from the store so you too can join me on the journey of metal crafting perfection.

Hope you join in as I can't wait to see what watercolouring goodies you make.

Hugs Lydia xxx

  2. Congrats on joining Monica's team! I can see why she chose you. The softness you added to the metal makes a lovely sympathy card. I'm looking forward to following your blog.
